Project: Interactive Destination Landing Page – PEI
Project Overview
This interactive landing page was designed as a passion project to explore my creativity in visual storytelling, animation, and front-end interface design. Inspired by the serene beauty and coastal charm of Prince Edward Island, I set out to craft an engaging digital experience that captures the province’s essence for potential travellers.
Tools: Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Canva
Hero Section Animation
The hero section sets the tone right away by bringing Prince Edward Island to life. Soft animations make the clouds gently float in, while the headline text smoothly appears and grows, catching the user’s eye. These little movements create a calm, breezy feeling—just like being by the sea. It’s a warm welcome that draws people in and encourages them to keep scrolling and explore more.
User-Friendly Layout & Scroll Flow
The page structure flows logically from Popular Visits to Events & Festivals, Testimonials, and Island Stories & Tips. Each section introduces a distinct type of content but maintains consistency in spacing, card design, and interactive cues. Microanimations—such as hover effects on image cards, sliding transitions between content rows, and gentle pop-in animations—keep the browsing experience dynamic and rewarding.
The entire design is tied together with a consistent visual system: rounded containers, soft shadows, a relaxed blue-and-orange color palette, and ample white space. This clean aesthetic is reinforced through motion—each animation feels purposeful and contributes to the overall storytelling.
Prototype Animation
This animated prototype brings the landing page to life with smooth transitions and interactive elements.
